**Job Title: Firewatch/Helper**
**Job Description**
The role of a Firewatch/Helper involves supporting all functional areas of LCAC refurbishment efforts. This position requires assisting skilled professionals such as ship fitters, mechanics, electricians, and welders. Tasks include organizing materials and tools, maintaining cleanliness in work and office areas, and monitoring welders to prevent fire hazards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Pick, handle, and organize materials and tools effectively.
+ Assist ship fitters, mechanics, electricians, and welders in their tasks.
+ Maintain cleanliness in work and office areas as required.
+ Monitor welders to ensure no fire hazards are present during welding activities.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong attention to detail to monitor welding activities safely.
+ General mechanical aptitude.
+ Ability to maintain focus throughout the entire shift.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with mechanical, construction, labor, and carpentry tasks.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools and drills.
+ Reliable attendance.
**Work Environment**
This position is based in a repair facility environment at ACU-5 Camp Pendleton, where LCACs are housed in large hangars or on the tarmac. Employees will work both indoors and outdoors and must be comfortable in hot and cold weather conditions. Steel toe shoes are required, and safety hats, glasses, and gloves will be provided on site.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Pendleton, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
