Internship in Residential Real Estate Rentals and Property Management- no experience needed.

Highly regarded and independent Jamaica Plain Real Estate Office is seeking a motivated, energetic and organized team player to join our Management and Rental Team for a summer internship. This full-time position offers a dynamic range of tasks throughout a typical day with exposure and experience in all aspects of Real Estate rentals and management and is an excellent chance to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in all aspects of Real Estate rentals and management.

Exact dates of internship are flexible depending on the candidates schedule. There may be the possibility to continue the position beyond the summer.

As an Intern, you will be given an array of tasks and responsibilities to do during our busiest time of the year. This is a great chance to gain hands on experience in Real Estate under the supervision of our more senior Property Management team members. Responsibilities are split between office/computer/organizational tasks and field work, as well as some interaction with clients and tenants. The ideal applicant has a strong interest in learning about Real Estate, interpersonal skills, loves to problem solve and think on their feet. They thrive on working both independently and with a team dependent on the task at hand, aim for perfection and are willing to go the extra mile for the team and our clients. You will gain insight through interactions with a spectrum of people including landlords, tenants, contractors, inspectors, company owners, etc.

Requirements

• Assist Property Managers in their tasks and learn from them;
• Schedule showings for our rental clients;
• Assist with apartment pictures, advertisement, etc. as needed;
• Process applications and related paperwork for new applicants;
• Communicate with tenants on questions they may have about their rental units including but not limited to maintenance requests, tenant notices, etc.;
• Meet maintenance vendors on site to provide unit access;
• Assist in end of lease walk- throughs/inspections of properties;
• Additional assignments as requested such as errands, property visits, key making, bank runs, etc.
• Acting as one of the first contacts of Arborview Realty, answering phone, greeting walk-ins;
• Office support including mail, scheduling/ordering office supplies, etc.;

Qualifications

• Some college education preferred, ideally in business or a related field
• Strong interest Real Estate rental and property management
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and writing skills required
• Adaptive and sociable personality
• Organized and able to meet deadlines
• Eager to learn and handle a fast-paced environment
• Approximately 40 hours/week (schedule can change)
• Real Estate Salesperson License is a plus but not required
• Must live within 10 miles of Jamaica Plain (Boston, 02130) for the duration of the internship
